Preschool Storytime Returns to Cheney
The session combines picture books, songs and hands-on activities for children ages 3-5.

Each Preschool Play & Learn Storytime begins with a half-hour of picture books, singing and fingerplays. A second 30-minute segment lets preschoolers investigate age-appropriate ideas through math, science, art and literacy activities. Parents and caregivers participate in the play with their children.
The program also introduces literacy, social development and STEAM skills, with STEAM covering science, technology, engineering, art and math. These are skills children will use in kindergarten, and families can keep exploring them at home. Families may also get their child a library card.
Additional Friday sessions are scheduled for October 30; November 6, 13 and 20; and December 4, 11 and 18, all in 2026. Library capacity is limited, so parties numbering at least 10 need to phone beforehand. Spokane County Library District works to welcome attendees of every ability. For accommodations, including ASL or support with hearing, contact comments@scld.org or 509.893.8200 no fewer than five business days before the event.
