Moran Prairie Library Hosts Family Play & Learn Storytime
The program combines picture books, songs and hands-on activities for children ages 2–5 and their families.
Moran Prairie’s meeting room will host Family Play & Learn Storytime on Friday, October 23, 2026, at 10:30 AM. The gathering is designed for children ages 2–5 and the adults who join them. The first half-hour uses picture books, songs and fingerplays to make learning active and enjoyable.
A second 30-minute segment brings children and their parents or caregivers into activities connected to math, science, art and literacy. The session also supports early literacy, STEAM and social abilities tied to kindergarten. Adults can participate directly, helping children learn through shared play and continuing those ideas at home.
Families may also get a library card for their child. Because library space is limited, groups with 10 or more people should call ahead. Spokane County Library District says its in-person events are intended to welcome people of all abilities; accommodation requests should be made at least five business days in advance by emailing comments@scld.org or calling 509.893.8200.
