Moran Prairie library hosts Spanish-language electricity event
The program is for children in grades 1–5 and their families, with advance sign-up required.

Fabiola Hammond will present a Spanish-language program that combines an introduction to electricity with vocabulary practice. The activity welcomes children in grades 1–5 along with their families. Participants will approach electricity through scientific exploration while learning Spanish words used to discuss the subject.
The session is designed for children who can follow spoken Spanish and are prepared to speak some themselves. Its language component focuses on scientific terminology that children may not encounter during ordinary conversation. That gives families a setting where science learning and Spanish practice happen together, with Hammond guiding the program.
Spokane County Library District says it works to welcome attendees of all abilities. For accommodations at an in-person library event, including hearing assistance, ASL requests or another ADA inquiry, families can contact comments@scld.org or 509.893.8200. Requests must be made at least five business days beforehand. The district also says Zoom programs provide live transcription, while recordings of Zoom events use automatically generated closed captions.
