Cheney families with toddlers ages 18 to 36 months can attend Toddler Play & Learn Storytime at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, October 27, 2026. The program takes place in the library’s Meeting Room and is designed for children to participate with a parent or caregiver.

The first portion lasts 20 minutes and combines picture-book reading, songs and fingerplays. A 30-minute activity period follows, introducing early ideas in math, science and literacy through play. Parents and caregivers take part alongside their children, making the session a shared activity rather than a drop-off program.

The library says storytime also supports literacy, STEAM and social abilities that children use as they prepare for kindergarten, with ideas families can continue at home. A child’s library card is another option mentioned for families. Seating is limited, and groups of 10 or more are asked to call ahead. Spokane County Library District says accommodations for in-person events can be requested by email or phone at least five business days beforehand.
