Families with children ages 2-5 can attend Family Play & Learn Storytime at North Spokane’s Meeting Room on Friday, October 23, 2026, beginning at 9:30 AM. The program gives children and adults time to participate together in a library setting.

The first half-hour uses picture books, music and finger games to build early literacy and social skills. A second 30-minute segment brings children into activities connected with math, science, art and literacy. Parents and caregivers take part alongside their children, with ideas they can continue exploring at home as children prepare for kindergarten.

The session also offers a chance to get a library card for a child. Because library space is limited, groups of 10 or more should call ahead. Spokane County Library District says its in-person events are intended to welcome people of all abilities; accommodation requests can be made by emailing comments@scld.org or calling 509.893.8200 at least five business days before an event.
