Baby Storytime Set for North Spokane Library

The program pairs a short story session with hands-on activities for babies and their caregivers.

The gathering begins with 20 minutes of shared language experiences for babies. Picture books, songs, rhymes and gentle bouncing help them hear patterns in words. A 30-minute play period follows, giving babies time with toys and activities suited to their ages while caregivers join in.

The program helps parents and caregivers enjoy learning through play with their children. It also presents early literacy, social development and STEAM concepts—science, technology, engineering, art and math—that support preparation for kindergarten and can be explored further at home. Families may also get a library card for their child.

Additional Wednesday sessions are listed for November 4, November 18 and November 25, 2026. December dates are December 2, December 9, December 16, December 23 and December 30, 2026. Library capacity is limited, so parties with at least 10 people need to phone beforehand. Accommodations such as hearing assistance and ASL may be requested by emailing comments@scld.org or calling 509.893.8200 no fewer than five business days before an in-person event.
